Book Discourse on Chuang Tzu:
Perfect Sincerity Of The Great Man!
Excerpt from book Discourse On Chuang Tzu
A dog is not deemed to be a superior dog simply because it is good at barking. A man is not deemed to be a worthy man simply because he is good at speaking. How much less, then, should he be deemed great! That which makes for greatness, does not suffice to accomplish greatness — how much less, then, that which makes for the accomplishment of Te! Nothing possesses a larger measure of greatness than Heaven and earth, yet have they ever gone in search of greatness and completion? He who understands what it means to be in possession of greatness and completion, seeks nothing, loses nothing, abandons nothing, and does not change himself for the sake of external things. He returns unceasingly to himself till he lodges with that which is everlasting. He follows in the footsteps of ancient ways until he is aligned with what is ever-enduring — this is the perfect sincerity of the Great Man!
